The Apple Watch Series 5 was the first Apple Watch with an always-on display, and it remains one of the most affordable ways to own a watch with ECG and a stainless steel or titanium case. Every refurbished Apple Watch Series 5 at Phonebot is tested, checked for Activation Lock, graded by condition, and covered by a warranty of up to 12 months with 7-day returns. Whether you searched for a refurbished, used, or second hand Series 5, or for an iWatch Series 5, this is the same watch with checks a private sale cannot offer. We deliver across the UAE, and you can see one at our store in BurJuman Centre, Dubai.
The Series 5 was made in two case sizes, 40mm and 44mm. There is no 38mm or 42mm Series 5. Those sizes belong to the Apple Watch Series 3 and earlier models, so if you have been searching for a Series 5 in 38mm or 42mm, the 40mm is the closest match to the smaller case and the 44mm to the larger one.
Bands still work across those sizes. Bands made for 38mm watches fit 40mm cases, and bands made for 42mm watches fit 44mm cases. If you own older Apple Watch bands, they will fit a Series 5 in the matching size group.
The Series 5 came in more finishes than most Apple Watch generations, which is why so many buyers search for a specific version:
One point that catches people out: there was no pink Series 5. The gold aluminium finish has a soft rose tone that many buyers describe as pink, and several Apple bands from that period, such as Pink Sand, add to that impression. If you want a pink look, a gold aluminium Series 5 with a pink band is the combination to search for. Every listing states the case material, size, and colour.
Four factors set the price. The case material matters most here, since aluminium is the most affordable and stainless steel, titanium, and ceramic cost more. Then the case size, with 44mm above 40mm. Then the connectivity version, where GPS + Cellular costs more than GPS. Finally the condition grade, where Grade B is the cheapest route and Open Box the most expensive.
Prices move as stock changes, so the live price on each listing is the only accurate figure. Filter by material, size, and grade, or sort from low to high to see the most affordable units in stock today.
The always-on display arrived with this generation, so you can read the time without raising your wrist, which is still the single biggest difference between the Series 5 and the Series 4 before it. It also has ECG for heart rhythm checks, a built-in compass, fall detection with Emergency SOS, high and low heart rate alerts, irregular rhythm notifications, and sleep and activity tracking through your iPhone. It is water resistant for swimming, and the stainless steel and titanium models still look and feel premium years later.
The Series 5 has reached the end of its watchOS updates. It no longer receives new watchOS versions, so it will not gain new features, and some apps will stop supporting it over time. Everything already on the watch keeps working: notifications, calls through your iPhone, workouts, heart rate, ECG, and activity tracking.
That makes the Series 5 a good buy as a first Apple Watch, a fitness and notifications watch, or a low-cost way to own a steel or titanium Apple Watch. It is not the right choice if you want years of software support. For that, a refurbished Apple Watch Series 6 adds blood oxygen measurement and still receives updates, and a refurbished Apple Watch SE, particularly the second generation, keeps software support at a low price.
The Series 5 does not have blood oxygen measurement, which arrived with the Series 6, or the temperature sensor and Crash Detection introduced later.
Every watch is tested across the display and touch response, Digital Crown, side button, speaker, microphone, heart rate sensor, ECG function, compass, GPS, and charging. We confirm that Activation Lock has been removed and the watch is signed out of the previous owner's Apple ID, so it pairs with your iPhone straight away. Battery health is tested and reflected in the grade, which matters more on a watch of this age than on any newer model.
Open Box units are practically new with original packaging. Like New units have no visible marks. Grade A units have light marks you would only notice up close. Grade B units show visible wear and work perfectly, which makes them the cheapest way to own a Series 5. Delivery is free on orders above AED 299 across the UAE.
If you want a similar watch for less, a refurbished Apple Watch Series 4 drops the always-on display but keeps ECG. To compare every generation side by side, see refurbished Apple Watch.
It depends on the case material, size, connectivity version, and condition grade, and prices change with stock. The live price on each listing is always accurate. Aluminium models in Grade B are the most affordable, while steel and titanium cost more.
No. The Series 5 was made only in 40mm and 44mm. The 38mm and 42mm sizes belong to the Series 3 and earlier. Bands for 38mm fit the 40mm case, and bands for 42mm fit the 44mm case.
The hardware is the same. The Nike version comes with exclusive Nike Sport Bands or Sport Loops and Nike watch faces. Everything else, including the chip, sensors, and display, is identical to the standard aluminium Series 5.
No. The Series 5 has reached the end of its watchOS updates. It still works for notifications, calls, workouts, heart rate, and ECG, but it will not receive new features, and app support will reduce over time.
Every watch is confirmed free of Activation Lock and signed out before it is listed, so it arrives ready to pair with your own Apple ID.
