Galaxy S20 models compared: S20, S20+, S20 Ultra and S20 FE

All four run the same generation of chipset (Exynos 990 or Snapdragon 865, depending on the regional version), carry an IP68 water and dust rating, use a 120Hz display, and support wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare. All four have a microSD slot for up to 1TB of extra storage, which Samsung removed from the S21 series onwards. None has a 3.5mm headphone jack. The S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra were sold in 4G and 5G versions, and each listing on this page states which version the unit is. Dual SIM units are marked "Dual Sim" in the listing title; on those, the second SIM slot is shared with the microSD card. They differ in screen size, cameras, RAM, battery capacity and build.

Samsung Galaxy S20

The standard S20 is the smallest phone in the series.

The S20+ has the same main cameras and chipset as the S20 with a larger screen, a bigger battery and a depth sensor.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra

The S20 Ultra has the highest specification in the series and the largest camera system Samsung had put in a Galaxy S phone at the time. It does not support the S Pen; that arrived with the S21 Ultra.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE

Released in October 2020, the S20 FE (Fan Edition) launched at a lower price than the S20 and sits between the S20 and S20+ in size. The 4G version uses the Exynos 990 and the 5G version uses the Snapdragon 865; both are listed on this page.

On software, all four shipped with Android 10 and their last version upgrade was Android 13 with One UI 5.1. Samsung's scheduled security update period for the S20 series has ended, so a refurbished S20 will not receive new Android versions. App updates through the Play Store are unaffected. If you want a Galaxy S phone that is still inside Samsung's update schedule, look at the S21 or later.

Condition grades for a used Galaxy S20

Phonebot grades on cosmetic condition. Every grade passes the same functional tests. The grade tells you how the phone looks and, for A-Grade and B-Grade, the minimum tested battery health.

  • Open Box: unused or barely handled, no visible wear. The closest option to a new retail unit.
  • Like New: no scratches, scuffs or marks visible under normal lighting.
  • A-Grade: light surface marks that show only on close inspection. Battery health tested at 85% or above.
  • B-Grade: visible scratches or marks on the body or screen. Fully functional. Battery health tested at 80% or above.

The grade, storage size and colour are stated on each listing. If price matters more than appearance, B-Grade gives you the same tested hardware with marks on the casing.

What we test before a refurbished Galaxy S20 is listed

Each phone goes through the same process, whether it is an S20 FE 128GB or an S20 Ultra 512GB:

  • Full hardware test: display and touch, all rear and front cameras, speakers and microphones, buttons, USB-C port, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 4G and 5G where fitted, GPS, NFC, in-display fingerprint reader and face unlock, wired and wireless charging, and the SIM and microSD slots.
  • Battery test, with the result checked against the grade threshold above.
  • IMEI blacklist check, so the phone is not reported lost, stolen or blocked on any network.
  • Network lock check. Every S20 is sold unlocked and accepts any UAE or international SIM.
  • Factory reset with the previous Samsung and Google accounts removed, so the phone arrives ready for first setup.
  • Cleaning and sanitising before packing.

Samsung Galaxy S20 price in the UAE

There is no single Galaxy S20 price. Each unit is priced on four things: the model (S20, S20+, S20 Ultra or S20 FE), the storage size, the condition grade and the tested battery health. Model and grade move the price most, so a B-Grade S20 FE sits at the lower end of the range and a Like New S20 Ultra with 512GB at the upper end. The 5G version of a model is usually priced above the 4G version of the same model and grade. Samsung S20 Ultra price in Dubai

The S20 Ultra is priced above the S20 and S20+ because of its 108MP camera system, periscope zoom, higher RAM and larger battery. Within the Ultra, storage and grade set the price: an A-Grade or B-Grade 128GB unit is the entry point, and a 512GB unit with 16GB RAM in Like New condition is the top of the range. If you are buying to a budget, compare the same model across grades before moving down a model. A B-Grade unit passes the same tests as an A-Grade unit and is fully functional; the difference is cosmetic marks and a lower minimum battery health. What is the difference between an A-Grade and a B-Grade Galaxy S20?

A B-Grade S20 has visible scratches or marks on the body or screen and a battery health of 80% or above. If you plan to use a case, a B-Grade unit gives you the same hardware at a lower price.

Is a refurbished Galaxy S20 unlocked, and does it support eSIM?

Yes. Every Galaxy S20 we sell is unlocked and works with du, e& and other UAE networks. The S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra support eSIM alongside a physical nano-SIM on most regional versions, and on units that support it the eSIM function is left ready to activate. eSIM support on the S20 FE depends on the version, and the 4G S20 FE does not have it.
